Baking Day!

Otto is baking his famous chocolate chip cookies and pecan biscotti and I'm going to do my cinnamon rolls and brownies. The inn smells like heaven, if heaven smells like cinnamon and chocolate and why wouldn't it?

We're on our 7th potta' today already! We're on fire in the cafe (not literally, of course). I'm going to make beef stew this afternoon so we have something for late guests. Can't do full service restaurant yet but we're easing into as much as we can handle.

Come to the coast, bring your appetite!

Richardson Grove State Park

Less than an hour north in Garberville, CA, this park has amazing redwoods and great hiking trails.
Spend the day here and then drive south on 101 to Legget, turn west onto Highway1 for a scenic drive into our waiting arms here on the coast in Westport! We'll keep the coffee on for you...

Nearby Attractions Series; Skunk Train!

"All Aboard" sounds across the station as a reminder of America's past, yet you are in the present day. Take your seat; it is time to make new memories as you travel through the majestic redwood forests and most beautiful scenery along the Pacific Coast.-Skunk Train brochure.

This fabulous family attraction is only 16 miles away from our inn. Choose from a whole day or an afternoon trip through towering redwoods and across yawning canyons to the Northspur turnaround where you can buy refreshments for the trip back to the coast. It's a trip back in time on the Skunk Train, http://www.skunktrain.com

Westport beach is only 500 steps from our front gate( I counted yesterday). Hardly anyone is ever there(this is actually a crowd). It's like being at your own private ocean.

Fog, Fog and More Fog!

Not sure where Mr. Sun went, (maybe Ukiah?) but he's sure not hanging' on the coast. We're not really complaining, the fog keeps us young and hydrated, and drives those weary travelers right into our waiting arms. We were full last night and are booked, booked, booked for this weekend with several people waiting for cancellations. Woo Hoo! Guess I won't get a tan this year...
